Belshaw Ball Plunger for "Donut Holes" for Type B/F Depositor

FOR BALL DONUTS, AKA 'DONUT HOLES' (2,3,4 OR 5 HOLES)

You can make a lot of cake donuts 'Holes', in a very short time with this plunger and standard cake donut batter. You can also make Loukoumades and Southern Fried Hushpuppies with this plunger. Plungers can be ordered with 1, 2, 3, 4, or even 5 holes. How big your finished product will depend on:

  • The size (diameter of the plunger".
  • The size of the holes in the plunger.
  • The number of holes in the plunger.

If you already have a 1¾ inch plunger and cylinder, then you can choose a 1¾ inch ball plunger, and use the cylinder you already have. The most efficient ball plunger is 2 inches because it can "push out" a lot of cake donut batter through the holes in the plunger. Three holes of ¾-inch diameter are common choices. There are many different choices of plunger size, hole diameter, and a number of holes possible.

As with all other cake donuts, you can increase or decrease the size of the finished donut using the dial setting on your Depositor, from 1 to 3. As your dial setting gets bigger, the batter will come out longer - like toothpaste coming out of a tube. The frying process will turn the batter into a round ball shape. If the dial setting is too big, the final product may become longer and slightly oblong shape. This is because the batter is squeezed out of the holes, like toothpaste out of a tube.

One of the best sellers in all donut shops is donut Holes. This produces the cake donut holes that are popular with your customers.

The best-selling variety for the donut hole plunger is the 4-hole plunger. We asked why this is to our customers and most have stated that the 4-hole produces the equivalent of cutting the store's cake donut into 4 slices.  When determining the size you desire consider this analogy of cutting the donut into (2)halves, (3) thirds, (4) fourths, or (5) fifths to determine your best size plunger then determine the collar size you prefer for the plunger.

The size of the Ball / Holes is determined by the number of holes extruded and the amount of dough the settings on the type B/F or set to. The fewer amount of holes on the plunger the larger holes will be produced. The more the amount of cake batter is divided, the smaller the holes will be. If you produce a 2-ounce donut and the batter is divided by two holes then the donut hole size will be approximately 1 ounce. If you purchase the Ball dropper that produces 5 holes at a time then the 2 ounces will be divided to produce approximately .40 ounce donut holes. This is also dependent on the 1 to 3 setting on the Belshaw Type B/F that determines the amount of batter used with each deposit.
